OUR
MINISTRIES
GREAT COMMISSION CHURCH OF CHRIST
DOCTRINAL STATEMENT
ARTICLE I
THE WORD
We believe that the Old and New testaments combined form the Bible; which is the
unadulterated Word of God. We believe that the bible, from Genesis to Revelation, is
fully inspired and was unquestionably written under the power and inspiration of the
Holy Spirit. We believe that the entire Bible was designed for man’s practical instruction. (Mark 12:26,36; Luke 24:27,44; 2nd Timothy 3:16,17; 2nd Peter 1:21).
ARTICLE II
THE TRINITY
We firmly believe that there is only one true and living God, perpetually existing in three
persons: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit. We believe that the three are equal in
every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work
of creation, providence, and redemption. (Matthew 28:18-19; Mark 12:29; Acts 5:3-4;
Hebrews. 1:1-3).
ARTICLE III
GOD THE FATHER
We believe in God, The Father, and that He is an infinite personal Spirit, perfect in
holiness, wisdom, power, judgment, and love. (Genesis 1:1; John 3:16-17; 17:17)
ARTICLE IV
JESUS CHRIST
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God; existing eternally with the
Father before His virgin birth. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily
resurrection, ascension into Heaven, perpetual intercession for his people, and personal
visible return to earth. (Matthew 1:18-25; Luke 24; Colossians 1:15; Philippians 2:5-8;
1st Corinthians 15:51-57.)
ARTICLE V
THE HOLY SPIRIT
We believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit who is the third Person of the Godhead; and came forth from God and Jesus Christ to convict the world of sin, to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe the every born-again believer has the Holy Spirit abiding with him and is their helper, caretaker and guide. We further believe that every believer should seek the baptism of the Holy Spirit for life and service; and that this should be synonymous with the Apostles of the early church who were filled with the Holy spirit and their evidence was speaking in tongues. (Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; 10:44-47; John 14:16; 15:26; 16:7).
ARTICLE VI
THE REGENERATION
We believe that all men are born with the Adamic nature and, consequently, all men are sinners by nature, by choice, and are therefore under condemnation. We believe that those who repent of their sins, and accept Jesus Christ as their personal savior, will enter into eternal rest. (John 3:36; 5:24b; Romans 1:16; 1st Corinthians 1:21; 2nd Timothy 1:12; 1st John 3:23.)
ARTICLE VII
THE CHURCH
We believe that the Church is an elect company of born-again believers; the espoused bride of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and that each member is baptized by the Holy Spirit into one body. We believe that God has laid upon the members of the local church the primary task of proclaiming the Gospel to the lost world.
We believe that each believer will be rewarded according to their faithfulness in the Master’s service and that these rewards will be bestowed at the judgment seat of Christ, subsequent to His return in the air to receive His own unto himself. (Acts 2:41; 15:13-17; Ephesians 1:36; 1st Corinthians 12:12-13; Ephesians 1;22-23; 1st Corinthians 3:9-15; 9:18-27; 2nd Corinthians 5:10.)15:51-57
